A disruptive brand, made consistent at retail scale.

01 / Context

A brand that rewrote the rules of car retail, location by location.

Tesla wasn’t opening dealerships. It was inventing a new kind of retail format—owned, controlled, and held to a standard that had to feel as precise and considered as the product itself.

The challenge wasn’t just opening stores. It was making sure every store opened the same: same materials, same light, same discipline—regardless of city, landlord, or contractor.

02 / Challenge

Design intent delivered without dilution, at pace.

Expansion is where brand consistency breaks. The higher the volume of openings, the more places the gap between specification and reality can open up.

Holding brand standards across a growing portfolio of locations, vendors, markets and build teams required active coordination—not documentation sitting in a folder.

03 / The role

"Brand standards only hold when someone is actively holding them."

  • ADesign coordination across vendor teams and new locations
  • BBrand standards review and compliance across physical touchpoints
  • CRollout process documentation and consistency management
  • DOn-site oversight ensuring specification translated to delivery

Career experience. Work delivered prior to eleven23.

04 / Approach

Standards enforced at the source, not after the fact.

The approach was to engage at the point where divergence happens: vendor selections, material substitutions, construction drawings. Catching inconsistency early is faster and cheaper than correcting it after.

Rollout discipline is a design skill. The process that ensures consistent delivery across locations is as important as the specification itself.

05 / Outcome

Consistent brand, delivered across markets.

Multiple showroom openings held to design standard, with a repeatable coordination process that could scale with the expansion programme.

06 / What the work demonstrates

Execution is the last mile of brand strategy.

Tesla Retail demonstrates the eleven23 capability that sits between brand standards and the physical result: the active coordination that makes sure what was designed is what gets built.
